AMERICAN LEGION POST 54Hi everyone, this is just a little note to say hello to everyone in the post, the auxiliary, the sons, and the VFW, that I have not met.
As I have only been in the community for about 5 years, I have been a member of the Legion for over 30 years. I meet more and more of you every time I come to the post, and must say I look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
As your new commander it is an exciting time being part of all the programs. I am absolutely astonished at the amount of community service we all are involved in, and would like to thank all of you that participate in it. If you have something in mind, or would like to join one of our programs, come on down. You are always welcome.
Our Friday night dinners are scheduled thru next year, so come down and enjoy.
Jessica Hay from our post won Washington state oratorical this year and went on to national competition, and had a fine showing. She won approximately 5000 dollars in scholarship money.
We are beginning a junior shooting program for competitors 19 and under for precision air rifle and small bore rifle.
We have all the money we need to send anyone who wants to participate in, and go to boys state, girls state, and oratorical. Also I must say they have a lot of fun in these programs.
We also have started a legion rider program for those of you who have motorcycles. They will be going on rides and doing fund raisers for the post.
Our pool league is up and going strong and is still open for subs till Oct. 30.
If you enjoy playing cards we always something going at the club.
If you sing in the shower, I know you will be a hit on Friday night karaoke.
